The First Battle of Harvest was the first battle the Human Covenant War. During this engagement, the Spartans were not deployed, and the human casualties were horrific as unprepared civilians were slaughtered by Covenant soldiers.
In all the subsequent battles of Harvest, only one was a victory for humans, who overcame the Covenant with attrition. Admiral Preston Cole, the leader during that engagement, lost 2/3 of his fleet.
